Hurray and happy Friday! I am so excited for a weekend full of fun friends, a little sample sale shopping, and a heartbreaking, cry-your-eyes out movie. Yup, sounds like my kind of weekend (and yes, the movie I am referring to is of course the new Nicholas Sparks movie).
I am also so excited to share with you my latest Hometalk segment on TV. This time I went to a new station in Richmond. I was thrilled to be a part of Virginia This Morning on CBS.
Let me tell you – these hosts are a BLAST. The host I did my segment with was hilarious – and adorable in his apron. We had a grand – and messy – seven minutes of live TV.
This segment was all about fall decor. I showed them these fun projects:
- Plaster of Paris Gourds (plus video)
- Yarn Wrapped and Paint Dipped Pinecones and Branches
- Sweater Wrapped Vases (plus video)
The host was all about getting messy, so we had fun making a Plaster of Paris mixture and dipping gourds. I also feel like I should apologize for my dull scissors I brought. Ha! You’ll see what I mean when you see him try to hack through the sweater.
With no further ado, enjoy my newest segment!

Congratulations on finding a new market for your content! I’m amazed that you traveled all the way to Richmond and I look forward to hearing more about it.
Are you J. Crew shopping this weekend? We are hitting the chili festival in Sedalia.
Thank you so much, Paula! It was so fun to spend some time in Richmond and spread the DIY love there (not that they don’t have a ton already)!
Yes, my friend and I are hitting up the warehouse sample sale on Saturday. Have fun at the chili festival in Sedalia! I hear it is always a good time!
Oh, my gosh, this was so much fun and I picked up some cool ideas for my own blog, Crafts a la Mode. Thanks so much, Megan!
Thank you so much Linda! Thank you for visiting – and love your blog!
